Adkins came to Hovind as a paralegal ("legal assistant") and judging by his criminal record he certainly does have a lot of experience with the law.

Adkins has referred to himself as a "Public Relations Director" of Creation Science Evangelism.[1]

Adkins has joined with Richard Mooneyhan to form Faith Works, a legal advisory "ministry".  The main client of Faith Works is Kent Hovind.  Hovind has called Atkins "a legal genius" [2]
