Prominent Creationists

Despite all of the "debate" there are only a few individuals and organizations at the root of Young Earth Creationism. Generally, most Young Earth arguments can be traced back to the entities listed below.  Notice also, all these organizations are based in the United States of America (science doesn't recognize borders but politics does).

Answers in Genesis - now the most influential Young Earth Creationist organization. Membership includes Ken Ham, Dr Carl Weiland, Johnathon Sarfati and Tas Walker. Has moved away from "evidence of a Young Earth" type arguments towards "no increase in information".

Creation Science Evangelism - Dr Dino -"Dr" Kent Hovind. A one man traveling pseudo science freak show.  Famous for the impossible-to-win $250,000 Challenge for "proving evolution".  Combines Young Earth Creationism with a heavy dose of conspiracy theories to support his Far Right political position.  Doesn't believe anything can be muhillions or buhillions of years old.  Considered a loon by most educated people who have viewed his materials and an embarrassment by other Young Earth Creationists.  Still has popular appeal due to simplistic arguments and clean cut charisma.

Institute for Creation Research - Co-founded by the godfather of modern Young Earth Creationism, Dr Henry Morris.  Began loosing influence when Dr Morris passed management onto his son, John Morris.  Membership also included the infamous Dr Duane Gish.  Without charismatic leaders creationist organizations slip into obscurity which will become complete when I predict ICR will merge with Answers in Genesis.

Center for Scientific Creation - Walt Brown - combines Young Earth proofs with his own idea of "hydroplate theory". One of Kent Hovind's favorite sources for arguments.

Creation Evidence Museum -  Home of "Dr" Carl Baugh.  One of the few remaining promoters of the Paluxy Man Tracks.  Considered a quack even by Young Earth Creationists.  Last remaining support comes mainly from Kent Hovind.

Discovery Institute (Center for Science and Culture) - Seattle based political think tank.  Co-founded by law professor Philip Johnson to promote "Intelligent Design".  Denies connection to the Creationist movement but won't define who the "Designer" is supposed to be or the mechanisms used.  Membership includes Dr Michael Behe ("irreducible complexity"), Dr William Dembski ("information"), and Johnathon Wells (Icons of Evolution).  Sometimes referred to as Wedgies based upon leaked "Wedge Strategy" of undermining the scientific establishment using political influence.

Reasons to Believe - Dr Hugh Ross.  Old Earth Creationist who doesn't accept Evolution Theory.  Combines mainstream astronomy with some strange interventionist Day Age Creation claims.  Really gets up the noses of Young Earth Creationists.
