Never Say Nebula

Kent Hovind really has his knickers in a twist over the Big Bang Theory.  When he is not recalling an airplane conversation with an unnamed "Professor" he is producing nonsensical Shockwave animations.

Hovind's Big Bang fixation involves a spinning singularity "exploding" and producing lots of little pieces of "spinning" shrapnel.  From there we go into Never Never Land where this spinning shrapnel forms all the planets which should therefore all spin in the same direction.  And since not all planets spin in the same direction, the Big Bang Theory is wrong and we are all going to Hell for holding such ideas.  Of course, none of Hovind's straw man arguments have any basis in reality.  These ideas exist nowhere except Hovind's active imagination.

When an idea exists nowhere except your own imagination it can become difficult to find supporting evidence.  Below are three consecutive screen captures from the video 100 Reasons Why Evolution is So Stupid (@8:30) with the accompanying words of Hovind on the right.  You will see the same slides in other Hovind presentations.  These images have not been altered.  What you see below is exactly how Hovind presents the material.  All the underlining, highlighting and additional text has been added by Hovind.  This is not a video editing error because Hovind quotes directly the text he underlined: "it spun faster and faster"

All the matter in the Universe was drawn into this little tiny dot.  And it spun faster and faster.  This is what they teach the kids.  Some kid's doing this as homework tonight, right.
It spun faster and faster.  Then one day ...
.... it exploded.  Big Bang.

Notice the problem?  The text on the first and second slide is not talking about the Big Bang at all.  The subject is the formations of a star from a cloud (nebula) of stellar material.  How did Hovind miss the highlighted conclusion; "A star - our sun - was born"?  Even if he couldn't read how did he miss the picture of a spinning disk?

I can only think of two possibilities for this event.  Either Hovind is so fanatical about his arguments that his brain literally filters every piece of reality to match the conclusion.  Or Hovind is so intellectually incompetent that he can not understand the plain English text of a high school science book.  Perhaps Hovind does not know what a nebula is?
